Slovenia’s Mladinsko Theatre has issued an open call for young artists from the region.
The Mladinsko Theatre has issued an open call to young theatre practitioners (which includes directors, writers, and troupes) from the countries of the former Yugoslavia with a focus on those who hope to develop their first projects within an institutional context.
The Mladinsko Theatre will offer the facilities of its New Post Office space to successful applicants and provide financial support (EUR 20,000 gross) for a minimum of one and a maximum of two original productions. In addition to this, the theatre will also offer artists the necessary support – both technical and HR-related – to develop their productions and the opportunity to work with between 4 to 6 of the actors from the theatre’s artistic ensemble (though it will also be possible for artists to engage freelance performers if required).
It is intended that the project will be implemented between 20th May and 10th October 2024, with a two-month summer break.
The application deadline for proposals is: 1st June 2023
The Mladinsko Theatre was established in 1955 as the first professional theatre for children and young people in Slovenia. Since them it has gone on to become a laboratory for artistic development in the region.
